Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 June 2026

Clipper by the Dozen ("Clipper", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Clipper video-editing service at clipper.doalier.com and our mobile apps (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored hashed).
  • Payment information — paid plans are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe processes payment details under its own privacy policy. We retain limited billing metadata (plan, status, invoices).
  • Content you provide — videos, images, and audio you upload, and media you import from third-party links (e.g. YouTube, TikTok), together with your edits, captions, music selections, and project settings. Media is stored in cloud object storage (Amazon S3) and delivered via a content-delivery network (Amazon CloudFront).
  • Derived content — data we generate from your content to provide editing features, such as transcripts (speech-to-text), scene/beat detection, thumbnails, and rendered videos.
  • Connected social accounts — if you connect a platform such as TikTok or Instagram, we receive and store the access/refresh tokens and basic account information the platform returns (e.g. display name, open ID), limited to the scopes you authorise.
  • Usage and device data — log and analytics data such as IP address, browser/device type, features used, and timestamps, used to operate, secure, and improve the Service. We use error monitoring (Sentry) to diagnose problems.
  • Cookies — used for authentication, preferences, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser.

How we use your information

We use personal information to provide and operate the Service (including importing, processing, transcribing, and rendering your media, and publishing to connected platforms at your direction); authenticate and secure your account; process payments and manage subscriptions; communicate with you and provide support; monitor, debug, and improve the Service; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

How we share your information

  • Service providers / processors under contract and only as needed: Amazon Web Services (hosting and media storage), Stripe (payments), Sentry (error monitoring), and speech-to-text/processing tools running on our infrastructure.
  • Platforms you connect, such as TikTok or Instagram, when you publish or schedule content to them at your direction.
  • Legal and safety recipients where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect rights, safety, and property.
  • Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this policy.

Connected platform data (TikTok and Instagram)

If you connect TikTok or Instagram, we access that platform only with your authorisation and only to the extent of the scopes you grant — for TikTok, publishing content and reading basic profile information; for Instagram (via the Instagram Platform API), publishing Reels and reading basic business-account information. We use this data solely to provide the publishing and scheduling features you request. We store authorisation tokens securely, do not use connected-platform data for advertising, and do not sell it. We never receive your platform password. You can revoke our access at any time from your Clipper settings or from the platform's own settings (TikTok: Settings → Security & permissions → Manage app permissions; Instagram: Settings → Apps and websites); revoking deletes the stored tokens. Our use and transfer of information received from these platforms complies with their developer terms and policies, including the TikTok Developer Terms and the Meta Platform Terms.

Data retention

We retain personal information while your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you delete your content or account we delete or de-identify associated personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and signed, time-limited URLs for stored media. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Overseas disclosure

We are hosted in Australia (AWS Asia Pacific, Sydney). Some processors may handle data in other countries; where we disclose personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.

Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, disconnect linked platforms, and opt out of non-essential communications. To make a request, contact us at support@doalier.com. If you believe we have breached the APPs you may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, where required, ask you to re-accept. Material changes will be notified through the Service.
